Bill Byrd received his real estate license in 1986 right after graduating from college! Currently Bill runs the Byrd Property Group with his daughter Waverly in Charleston SC at Keller Williams Realty Charleston-West Ashley.
Bill’s real estate journey has taken him from the early days when contracts were only 2 pages, through real estate’s transition into today’s technology. Bill was initially trained by his first broker, who at that time was the President of the National Association of Realtors. A firm believer of getting started with the right support, Bill believes that the training and guidance that he received in the beginning of his career, has been an important key to his success.
In his first 10 years in the business Bill built a successful career as a solo agent and was considered somewhat of a “Maverick” in his local board in Virginia Beach when he opened his own office to support his team in 1996! “At the time we had a 2 year old baby and another child (my current partner Waverly) in the womb! I was scared to death, failure was obviously not an option so I got right on the phone and within 2 weeks had more business than I could handle, and never looked back”!
Always looking for the next opportunity, Bill discovered Keller Williams Realty in 2006. At that time there were no Keller Williams offices in Virginia Beach. Impressed by the Keller Williams Belief System, models and training, Keller Williams seemed to be the right fit for the next chapter of his career!
Soon after his meeting with the Virginia Regional Director, Bill merged his team into a new Keller Williams Launch in Chesapeake with Keller Williams Coastal. Then in 2008 Bill and another agent friend created an investor group, hired a team leader and opened Keller Williams Realty Towne Center in Virginia Beach. This new office opening was considered a “Home Run Launch”, which by Keller Williams standards is the highest level of a successful office opening.
In 2010 in the middle of the housing crisis (shift), Bill’s team eclipse 16 million in volume. One of his highlights during that year was receiving a personal referral from none other than Gary Keller!
In 2015 Bill and his wife moved to Charleston where their youngest daughter Waverly was in school. Bill quickly learned the market and embarked on a new real estate career in a new market!
Having previously taught pre-licensing and continuing ed courses in Virginia, Bill was hired by the College of Charleston to teach pre-licensing and continuing ed at their Adult Learning Center as well as at the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors.
During his career at Keller Williams Realty, Bill has taught numerous Keller Williams courses as well as attending Bold and other iconic KW courses many, many times! Additionally, Bill has personally coached several agents, served on several ALC’s, invested in Market Centers, been a team leader, owned a title company, been a custom home builder, flipped several homes and invested in residential and commercial projects, developed land and subdivisions.
Currently the Byrd Property Group is on track to produce 16+ million in volume in 2022. Helping buyers and sellers throughout the Charleston area. Additionally, Bill and his wife have two of the healthiest profit share trees in Charleston, putting them in the 100%+ club for several years.
